THE HERMITAGE'S TRAVELS
Every year, our Association organizes the traditional trip to St. Petersburg for the Hermitage Festival: a unique opportunity to visit the palaces and treasures of the Tsars. The discovery of the city unfolds over the course of two days, enriched by events organized by the Museum and the fascinating Hermitage Friends Gala Evening, hosted in the splendid spaces made available to us.
The program includes visits to the palaces and museums surrounding the Hermitage complex, with the opportunity to rediscover exclusive collections that, after extensive restoration, have not yet been reopened to the public. It will also be interesting to observe how the Impressionist and Post-Impressionist collections have been housed in the rooms of the former General Staff. We will design a special itinerary to explore the treasures of the Tsars up close.
Admission to the Hermitage is private and exclusive: the Museum closes its doors to the public and opens them exclusively to members of the Associations and Foundations that represent it worldwide. This event has a special charm: the largest museum in the world, far from the tourist crowds, allows our guests to calmly admire priceless masterpieces.
To allow its members to enjoy this unique experience, the Friends of the Hermitage Museum Italy Association, in addition to exclusive events organized for delegations inside the Hermitage, offers guided tours to places of great charm and beauty: Catherine II's summer residence at Tsarskoye Selo, the Peter and Paul Fortress, the Russian Museum, the Alexander Nevsky Monastery, the Cathedral of the Savior on Spilled Blood, and St. Isaac's Cathedral.
